AhlulBayt News Agency - A delegation of French experts including the heritage expert Dr. Jeerul Deen Shatlard and the documentary photographer Agnes Muntari visited the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf. The official of Public Relations Department, Dr. Zaid al-Akayshi, received them.
The heritage expert Dr. Shatlard explained ‘We came here to train and teach the Iraqis the methods of collecting the documenting the heritage. Our file now is collecting and documenting the Husseini rituals in a detailed article to register it internationally. We want to register it among the global heritage of the countries in UNESCO.’
‘The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH) is considered our inspirer as experts. It has the biggest part of the religious activities and rituals. We came here to complete this project in cooperation and coordination with Holy Shrine and we thank them for their help,’ she added.
Dr. Zaid al-Akayshi said that the delegation’s visit began after completing documenting the educational elements of the project.
‘The mutual efforts of the Holy Shrine, Public Relations, the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural House are made to document the historical sites and the activities of the millions of visitors of the Shrine. After ten days of doing her job, the expert visited the Shrine as she was presented a book of the life history of Imam Ali (PBUH) in English,’ he added.
